Donnan “Donnie” Burris

CEO of Burris Logistics

Donnie Burris became the CEO of Burris Logistics in 2010.  He is a 5th generation Burris family member and has worked in the business for over 25 years.   Prior to serving as CEO, Donnie held various management roles within the company and spent several years working in operations.

Donnie is passionate about providing high-quality supply chain solutions, “WOW Service” to customers, and a culture where team members feel like they’re with family!

In addition to working in the family business, Donnie is a board member of Delmarva Christian High School and a former member of the Finance Committee of Bayhealth Medical Center.  He holds a bachelor’s degree from Liberty University and has completed additional study in strategy and finance through Wharton’s Executive Education Center and industrial refrigeration courses through RETA.  He is also a graduate of the WFLO Institute, the educational arm of the Global Cold Chain Alliance.

Donnie and his wife of 27 years reside in Lewes, DE, with their four children and yellow lab.  In his free time, Donnie enjoys spending time with his family and is an avid kitesurfer and duck hunter.

Burris Logistics, based in Milford, DE, is a leader in providing high quality, customized supply chain solutions with an emphasis on frozen and refrigerated products.  Burris Logistics has 2,000 team members, 16 distribution centers, a fleet of 200 trucks, 450 trailers, brokers 350,000 truck loads per year, and has annual sales of $4 Billion.

John Hummel

President of Custom, PRW, and E-Comm

John Hummel has served as our President – Custom Distribution since February 2019. He, also, leads our ONEBURRIS Sales and Business Development initiative. Prior to joining us, John served as an officer and President – Central and Southeast United States for United Natural Foods, Inc (NYSE: UNFI) from April of 2016 until his arrival at Burris.  He, also, served as UNFI’s Vice President of Distribution – Central US from May 2013 until his appointment to President.  Previously, John spent 24 years with Reinhart FoodService, a Reyes Holdings company, where his last role as Corporate Vice President of Operations (2005 – 2013) saw him lead a 30 distribution center food service network totaling more than $7B in annual sales to more than 37 states.  In a grassroots career, Mr. Hummel performed many roles at Reinhart, including warehouse selector, delivery driver, warehouse and transportation manager, as well as Director of Distribution for their largest facility in Milwaukee, WI.  He began his career with Walter’s Food Distributors, Inc., in 1987 and has held various leadership roles in other large scale food distribution organizations such as PepsiCo Food Systems / AmeriServe and Institution Food House, an Alex Lee Company.

John Teixeira

Burris Custom, Senior VP

John Teixeira is our Senior Vice President of Distribution, supporting our five Custom DC’s and ensuring that the teams have the necessary resources to provide custom solutions to our many partners. John has held a number of different Senior Leadership roles in his 15 years at Burris, and prior to joining the team, John honed his Supply Chain skills in Broadline Foodservice Distribution for 18 years; starting as an hourly warehouseman with Hallsmith Sysco and working his way up to a Vice-President of Operations at Alliant Foodservice and Performance Food Group. With Burris, John has helped navigate our Custom division through its inception as a brand and through growth as a service provider to several large-scale retail distribution programs.

In his free time, John can be found enjoying his family, rooting for all Boston sports teams, and strumming on his growing guitar collection (14, but who’s counting?).

Nick Falk

Senior VP of Business Development, ONEBURRIS

Nick Falk is Burris Logistics’ Senior Vice President of Business Development and Solution Design. In this role, he leads the team responsible for creating Supply Chain Solutions for all four Burris business units. This team provides sales support by connecting our ONEBURRIS Business Development team and operations.

Nick joined Burris in January 2014. Before returning to Florida in his current role, he was the President of Burris Freight Management and Trinity Logistics, where he oversaw the growth of the business unit into a Top 20 non-asset 3PL through both organic and acquisition growth. Before this role, Nick was the General Manager of the Burris Custom distribution center in Orlando, FL. Nick arrived at Burris with eight years of progressive leadership experience from Target Corporation, including positions in Operations, Project Management, and Distribution Automation.

Nick lives in the suburbs of Orlando with his lovely wife and two children. In his spare time, he enjoys being with his kids, playing as much golf as possible, and the Minnesota Vikings…In that order, he swears.

Mike McGraw

VP of Purchasing

Mike McGraw is Burris Logistics’ Vice President of Purchasing. In this role, he works with a team that is responsible for purchasing frozen and perishable products for BJ’s Wholesale Clubs and Market Basket frozen bakery. This team manages the flow of inventories into the Orlando, Elkton, and Rocky Hill distribution centers to support our partners’ service level demands.

Mike joined Burris in March of 1999 as operations manager of the New Castle facility for the BJ’s start-up and then becoming the General Manager. Before joining Burris, Mike worked with a large wholesaler and formed a relationship with BJ’s as an Account Executive that has lasted twenty-five years!

Mike lives in Elkton, MD, with his wife, Wendy. He enjoys spending his free time with his two children and grandchildren in Florida whenever possible and traveling with his wife.

Bobby Bailey

VP of Marketing, Burris Logistics

Bobby joined the team in August of 2019 as the Vice President of Marketing tasked with supporting all Burris Logistics with branding and marketing execution. Bobby comes to us from the world of automotive marketing, specializing in providing managed digital services to dealerships in need of content, SEO, and social media. He was part of a newly formed team that grew from 40 employees to over 300 in 4 short years. Bobby’s experience includes event marketing for both consumer brands and in an agency setting. 

Bobby’s vision is for a unified experience at Burris Logistics while still fostering brand individuality. His team of professionals offer creative and marketing support to the four Burris brands and with internal departments such as human resources, recruiting, and IT.

Derya Kazak

Human Resources Director

Derya J. Kazak is the Human Resources Director for the Custom brand at Burris Logistics, promoting organizational culture and strategy throughout its largest division. She has been working in Human Resources for nearly fifteen years, supporting employees across HR functions for small businesses and large corporations in various industries, including public accounting, information technology, food service, engineering, insurance, warehousing, and logistics. She also has extensive experience in mediation. Derya values integrity, kindness, and action-oriented collaboration and encourages a healthy dose of humor and chocolate on a regular basis. She has a master’s degree in Human Resources Management from Penn State University and a Juris Doctor from Rutgers University. In her spare time, Derya plays beach volleyball, loves the outdoors, and volunteers with Habitat for Humanity and other local organizations. Her MBTI is ENFJ-A, and PI aligns with “the Collaborator” profile.

Susan Godsey

Finance Director

Sue joined the Burris Custom team in December 2020 as the Finance Director. She provides business analytics and decision support, in addition to leading our budgeting and forecasting processes.  Sue has spent most of her career in the food industry, working for both manufacturers and distributors.  Most recently, she helped build a new Financial Planning and Analysis function for a large food distributor.

Sue specializes in helping business leaders by translating numbers and metrics into information they can use.
